Blogtober day two: Birthday haul

On Friday I turned 21: the legal age to drink in America. As I could already drink; being from the UK (legal age of 18), I decided to do something a little different. I went for a meal with my univeristy friends, spent a day in my favourite place: London, had a family tea afternoon, went for drinks with my university friends then had afternoon tea. All of these each happened on different days. So I thought I'd share a few pictures of what I got and how my 5-day birthday went!

Product hauls to follow! x

Blogtober day 1: First Aid Beauty (FAB) review

I have ALWAYS wanted to try first aid beauty products, and I was lucky enough to receive the First Aid Beauty: FAB Faves to go kit. This included a cleaner, moisturiser and toner pads.

Firstly, the ultra repair cream: this is really moisturising. I sadly suffer from dry skin on my face, always peeling and sore. After a few applications of this cream I could see a huge difference in my skin! I definitely think I will be purchasing the full sized soon!

Next up is the cleanser, I took this away with me when I stayed at a friends last week, this is the second cleanser that I've tried. It is admitted not as great as the Benefit Foamingly Clean, but it does a good job regardless. This is the first ever cleanser my friend had tried though and she commented on how soft her skin felt after using it.

Lastly, the toning and brightening pads. These are not great, they work well after using the cleanser, but the smell is awful. If you are over 18/21 and have ever tried an alcoholic drink called a jäger bomb, well this is what these pads smell like. It's not so pleasing. I also haven't seen a change in exfoliation, brightness or toning. I know I haven't given then a long time to work, but the smell definitely put me off.

Whats in my bag?

This month I haven't really tried many new products, so I didn't think it would be useful to do a monthly favourites on old favourites! However, my little lovelies, this blog post will include a sneak peek of what is in my bag.

So, yesterday I went to York with some of my old friends from sixth form. It was Reanne's birthday and we wanted to to do something a little bit different to the usual meal in a fancy restaurant! The special thing about York is that a few years ago, before leaving for uni, we all surprised Reanne on her birthday with a lovely weekend away in York.

So yesterday we were going for a meal and a few drinks, but the weather was not that great to start out with, and we'd be travelling there and back, so outfit choice was a little tricky in trying to combine all these factors! However, after choosing a summery floral dress and cream coat with my Vivienne Westwood filly snake bag  in blue! (link is the black version).

Inside my bag, there was a range of product to help me through the day, luckily the weather perked up and we had cocktails by the river, and but my makeup never slipped in wind or shine, all thinks to the Benefit 15-hour primer.

First up is beauty products, I usually only take one lipstick, but on this occasion, I ended up with 3! I would usually apply lipstick before leaving the house, and if I feel I need to, I will take that same lipstick with me in my bag, otherwise, I usually just stick to baby lips!

The two lipsticks I took yesterday were both Rimmel London Kate lipsticks, this was because Rimmel London have made some amazing red shades in the Kate collection, and i'm a sucker for a red lip. I obviously had to have some Benefit in my bag somewhere, so this was the mini They're real mascara, this was just incase my eyes needed a little pick me up during the day (which they did not, because this mascara and amazing and crumble-free), and a Benefit Porefessional, just incase any makeup slipped around my nose or under my eyes from the whether.

Next up is the usual hand bag type products, phone, purse, keys, train pass, pocket mirror, you know...

And then all the extra little bits: comb, bobby pins, hair tie, facial moisture spray (from being around all the air pollution or trains and alcohol).

Just a short little check in, but a big post will be coming soon, and a lot of amazing things are happening in September so I will keep you updated! Until next time lovelies x

Jogging wear!

Lets be honest girls, nobody likes doing exercise or working out! But when you get clothes you like, you cannot help but be a little bit excited about wearing them!

I always imagine myself as those of those people who think they look good jogging, but really I do not at all! Myself and my friend Abbie jog every other day, so we chose comfortable clothing, that suits all kinds of weather and most of all, that we liked!! (Most gym wear can be pretty ugly).

So here is a small selection of attire I choose to wear when jogging, and the brand name is USA PRO (http://store.usapro.co.uk)

They make delightfully comfortable clothes, some tops with fitted supported bras, leggings with the high waist brand that sucks in your stomach and brightly coloured in a selection of greens, pinks, blues and purples!

I went for the running top with fitted support bra, and long leggings with the waist band, obviously both in black and pink to match my Nike roshe run trainers.

These were all reasonably priced, apart from the shoes. But if you want good running shoes you have to pay the price!

Top: £12.99 USA pro
Bottoms: £17.99 USA pro

Pink nike roshe run: £40 (I got junior size because the adults start in a 6, and are £30 more expensive).

Review: Benefit Instant Comeback

Last week I was sent a sample of Benefits new instant comeback serum from Emerald Street . This little serum is £36 and is designed to help tired and dehydrated skin, giving your skin a 'boost' of youthfulness, as well as protecting against signs of ageing.

I applied this after I had cleansed my face, before using moisturiser and my first impressions were not the greatest. I first applied it on a day where I was wearing no makeup, and the serum is quite thick, it feels like moisturiser but a clear instead of white substance! It left my face feeling very hydrated all day but an issue was that because its quite gloomy, it left my face feeling a bit sticky because I did not apply anything over the top of it.

The second time I used it, it brought out quite a few breakouts, but it is a formula that gets all the 'bad stuff' away. I can feel a huge difference in my skin, as my skin is quite dry, but I do not think i'll be rushing out to buy the full sized product any time soon. I would definitely purchase this to help with my dry skin, but there are better products from Benefit, that are cheaper, that would resolve dry skin just as good.

Who doesn't need new stationary?

So I recently got my 2nd year grade from University and obviously stocked up on nesessities to be able to survive third year. Those essential ingredients to be able to tackle all lectures, exciting or boring, and bright colourful stationary allows you to handle note taking a little more easily knowing it's going into pretty paper.

So for anyone going to university/college soon, trust me when I say you will need endless amounts of paper and pens to get you through the year! I went through 2-3 notebooks and a millions pens in second year alone. And also the fact third year is 100000x harder than second, and more note taking and scribbling down stuff will be taking place.

So I decided to get stationary, already prepared for October and it's months away (credit for organisation skills).

Starting off with notebooks, three notebooks to be exact.

The bottom one: A4 Oxford notebook- Asda £3
Middle: A5 Cath Kidston- £8
Top: A5 Sainsburys- £3

EVERYONE needs post it's!

Folders: All Cath Kidston- £9 for 2

Document Wallets: Cath Kidston- £7 for 4

And lastly lots of pens!!

I hope you guys all got the grades you needed if you're in/going to university/college!

Until next time lovelies x

July Wishlist

Along with every other blogger this month my usual monthly wish list includes one or two items I've spotted from the AW14 collection that is not yet available, so I apologise in advance and we can envy those who already own the items, lucky lucky people!

On a brighter note hey, hello, hi! It seems like forever since my last blog post, I plan them and time just flies by without my actually typing away and staring at a screen for hours! Little life update: I passed my second year of University, one step closer to becoming a primary school teacher!!! Cue celebrations.

Yeah, well anyway, back to July wish list, this one was a little hard. I'm in need of a few new pretty and petite dresses for my Summer, going into Autumn collection, but they are so impossible to find. It seems like every store has just forgotten up update their stock in the last month or so, then comes the first world issues of not having my size when I do find something worth splashing out for!

Firsty up is lovely little Topshop. My favourite place.

Leaf Print Overlay Crinkle Sundress, £38

Tapestry Print Sundress, £36

Flower Jacquard A-Line Skirt, £35

Next up, Miss Selfridge:

Then a little teaser of the Nars AW14 collection, I am so desperate for this little compact!

Last but definitely not least is my Sephora basket, and all you Americans will have no idea how jealous I am that you live close to these stores! This basket will be full for a long time until I can justify spending an awful lot on shipping :( Seriously cannot wait to get my hands on a TARTE Lights, Camera, Splashes though!

And i'm going to have to quickly dash off and get ready for dancing, so I shall leave you with a little delight that I recently purchased the Bumble and Bumble Surf Set from Boots for £18, and My next blog post will probably be a review of that set!

Until next time, Lovelies x
